On Dress Purple Day, Tuesday, October 27, students and staff at participating HWCDSB schools will wear purple to show families facing challenges that we care and want to help.
Dress Purple Day was developed by Ontario’s Children’s Aid Societies to raise awareness about supports that are available and how to access them. It also encourages all Ontarians to do their part in supporting vulnerable families in their local community. The campaign is more important than ever since the COVID-19 pandemic has created additional stressors for families, and in some cases, has increased risk for the well-being and safety of children and youth.
What can you do? Help to spread the message! Create a video, join the conversation online at #DressPurpleDay2020 and #IDressPurpleBecause, and wear purple on October 27 to show that you are part of the community that cares for children, youth, and families.
