The James L. Daly Award of Excellence was established to honour the leadership and commitment to Catholic education as demonstrated by Mr. J. L. Daly during his thirty-three-year career as a teacher, vice-principal, principal, superintendent and Director of Education with the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board.

The James L. Daly Award of Excellence recognizes an extraordinary student in our school system at both
the elementary and secondary levels and was designed to ensure the continued recognition of
extraordinary achievements by Catholic students in Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic Schools through their
responsible use of God-given talents and skills, for the good of all society.

This Award was established by the Board’s Senior Administration on the occasion of Mr. J. L. Daly’s retirement from the Board.
