Let's help Halton Women's Place
Each year, Aviva Insurance organizes the Aviva Community Fund to help organizations across Canada win $100,000 to help their idea/cause. What better issue to support than the education of students from elementary to secondary? Halton Women’s Place is in the running to be awarded this incredible amount of money that would allow them to sustain and grow their Public Education and Advocacy Program, which teaches children of all ages the importance of healthy relationships in all its forms. From being a good friend (anti-bullying), to gender stereotypes, media influences, teen dating and more. This program also teaches children and youth how to recognize the signs of abusive behaviour and obtain help, if needed. It has been proven that children who witness domestic violence are affected as though they have been abused themselves. As well, many continue this behaviour – as the abuser or the victim. Education and engaging our children in these conversations and lessons is crucial to the prevention of violence against women.

to vote for the Public Education and Advocacy Program for Halton Women’s Place so that more children and youth can directly learn how they can help prevent more girls and women from being abused. As well, this education program will, no doubt, create some incredible advocates from our children. “Because a life without violence is the only life to live.”
Please note, it may take some time before an email confirmation will be sent you after registering. Once it does though, you can vote EVERY DAY! Please do.
