School Community Survey Results and Action Plan-update Apr. 2nd
“What is the shortest word in the English language that contains the letters: abcdef? Answer: feedback. Don’t forget that feedback is one of the essential elements of good communication”
As you may recall, in March 2015 a group of staff, parents and students came together with a shared vision to engage the valued feedback of our school community for the betterment of the school and our student success. At BTOC, we truly value the home/school partnership, which we feel is one of the essential components of an effective Catholic School. As a result, the committee spent the remaining months of the 2014-2015 academic year developing a parent/community survey which focused on current and relevant school issues, which included: School Cash Online, Hot Lunch, Uniform, Communication, Learning at Home, Volunteering and Catholic School Council.
Following the launch of the survey in early April of 2015, we received almost a 50% response rate, which is excellent! Very positive feedback was received in all of the focus areas as well as very useful constructive feedback. All of the input was reviewed very carefully, which helped to guide the committee in making very important decisions and developing a detailed and meaningful action plan. This updated plan has been shared with the school community several times since June 2015, as recently as Dec. 2015. We hope that you will take the opportunity to continue reviewing it as it truly was a TEAM (“Together Everyone Achieves More”) effort as an entire school community. Overall, the results and feedback only confirmed what we already knew. Together (as staff, parents, grandparents, students and volunteers), we have done and continue to do GREAT things, which have made BTOC even better! However, there is always more that can be done and always areas to continue working on and striving towards. This plan has continued to be monitored by the committee and Catholic School Council, with ongoing communication and updates to the community. Please find attached the revise action plan as of April 2016.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Mr. Colella at the school. Thank you again for your time and feedback.
